This notice applies to the website liquid-organization.com and to the domains that forward to it. It is written to meet the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP, revised version in force since 1 September 2023) and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation.
What this site does not do
- No cookies. Nothing is written to your device by this website.
- No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no pixel, no heat mapping and no visitor counter.
- No third-party content. All fonts, images, styles and scripts are served from this domain. No content delivery network is called for page content, so no external party is told what you looked at.
- No advertising and no profiling. No automated decision-making takes place.
The notification list
If you give an email address through the form on this site, it is stored so that we can tell you when the book is published, and afterwards send occasional news about the book and the speaking and training work connected to it. Nothing else is done with it. The list is never shared, rented or sold, and there is no automated sequence of follow-up emails.
The only personal data held is the email address you give, together with the date it was submitted. We do not track whether you open a message or what you click.
The legal basis is your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 6(6) FADP. You can withdraw it at any time, either by replying to any message or by writing to the address above, and the record will be deleted. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before it. Addresses are kept until you withdraw, or until the list is no longer used, whichever comes first.
Form submissions are handled by Netlify Forms, a feature of the hosting provider described below. The email address you submit is stored on Netlify's servers, which are located in the United States, and is also forwarded to us by email.
Hosting and server log files
The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, United States. Like any web host, its servers record technical information each time a page is requested: the IP address of the requesting device, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page if there is one, and the browser and operating system in use. This happens at the hosting layer and is standard for the operation and security of any website.
These logs are used only to keep the site running and to investigate faults or attacks. They are not combined with any other data and are not used to identify individual visitors. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating a secure website, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and Article 31(1) FADP.
Contacting the authors by email
Contact links on this site are plain email links. Selecting one opens your own email programme with the address filled in. Nothing you type is sent to this website.
When you send an email, we receive the content of your message, your email address, your name if you give it, and anything else you choose to include. That information is used to answer you and to carry out any speaking, training or advisory engagement that follows. The legal basis is the steps taken at your request before entering a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Enquiry correspondence is kept for as long as the matter is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where a mandate follows, records are kept for the ten years required by Swiss commercial bookkeeping law. Correspondence that leads nowhere is deleted once it is clear there is nothing further to discuss.
An enquiry addressed to one author may be shared with the other where the subject concerns the book or a joint engagement.
Recipients of your data
Your data is not sold, rented or shared for marketing. It may be seen by our email provider and our hosting provider in the ordinary course of delivering their services, by the co-author where an enquiry concerns the book, and by our accountant, bank or legal advisers where a mandate makes that necessary. Disclosure to authorities occurs only where the law requires it.
International transfers
Netlify and our email provider process data outside Switzerland and the EEA, principally in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by standard contractual clauses or an equivalent legal mechanism.
Your rights
You can ask for access to the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask for processing to be restricted, object to processing based on legitimate interests, withdraw consent to the notification list, and ask to receive your data in a portable form. Write to beate@beatevanlooborn.com and we will respond within the statutory period.
If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Bern, or, if you are in the EEA or the UK, to your national supervisory authority.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to email and business records is protected by strong authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid sending confidential material by unencrypted email unless we have agreed how to handle it.
Children
This site is aimed at a professional audience and is not directed at children.
Changes
This notice may be updated when the site or the law changes. The version in force is the one published here.
